StatementPrivate turns a bank or credit card statement PDF into a table you can download as Excel, CSV or OFX. The PDF is read inside your browser tab and is not uploaded, so we never hold your statement. There is no account and nothing to install.

How it works

• Everything runs in your browser. The PDF is read with the open-source pdf.js library hosted on this site. The converter makes no network request while it works; see how it stays private to check that yourself.
• It checks its own work. If the statement prints a running balance, every row is compared with it; if it prints an opening and a closing balance, those are checked against the total. A tick means the numbers add up. It does not prove that every description was read correctly.
• It says what it cannot do. Scanned statements (pictures of pages) have no text to read, and layouts it does not recognise can be marked by hand. We claim no support for any particular bank; the tool is tested on synthetic statements in several layouts, and real statements vary.

What may come next

We are considering a paid Pro option for people who convert many statements: several files at once, a reconciliation report, QuickBooks (QBO) files after testing, and saved column layouts (layouts only, never transactions).
